Gaymerica
may be a political satire, but the message and theme are pretty clear.  Tolerance is not enough.  Divisiveness and ignorance can only end with acceptance.  Included on this page you will find links to organizations that work toward that same goal.  Click.  Learn more.  Get involved!

National Organizations:

  • The Human Rights Campaign is an organization whose mission is "Working for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Equal Rights."
  • "The White House Project is a nonprofit leadership development organization that invites, inspires, and equips the next generation of diverse women to lead in politics and business."
  • Second Class Citizens is a documentary project by Ryan James Yezak that aims to "...explore where [the] hate comes from, why it continues to exist, and what we must do to get rid of it. A better solution is needed because the solution we have right now isn't working fast enough."

Minnesota-centric Organizations:

  • Gender Justice is based out of St. Paul, MN and "seeks to eliminate gender inequality through litigation, public policy advocacy, and education and training programs."
  • OutFront Minnesota's mission is "to make our state a place where LGBT Minnesotans have the freedom, power, and confidence to make the best choices for their own lives."
  • Project 515 seeks "to ensure that same-sex couples and their families have equal rights and considerations under Minnesota law."
  • "Minnesotans United for All Families is a broad coalition of organizations and community and business leaders. Faith, labor, progressive, and nonpartisan organizations, communities of color, current and former elected officials, Republicans, Democrats, Greens, Independents, and Libertarians have all joined to defeat the constitutional amendment which would limit the freedoms of Minnesotans and ban marriage for same-sex couples in Minnesota."
